Do not use Floating IP
...
We do not use a floating IP for 3 reasons:
1. The PTR record is not set to floating IP.
2. The outbound interface is not changeable to floating IP.
3. there are reports that port 25 on floating IP is blocked.

The default is 'no timeout' and it will wait for the response forever.
